I have taught Relationship and Sex Education (RSE) to students with Severe and Profound Learning difficulties for over 30 years. I feel passionately that all young people are entitled to quality RSE delivered in a way that they can relate to, and I devise ways to enable people who use alternative communication to be able to talk about sexual needs and expression. I am the author of ‘The Sex Factor’, a training package designed for teachers of young people with complex neuro disabilities, and I have won an ‘Inspirational Educator Award’ by the Worshipful Company of Educators for my work in this area. I am a member of SHADA (Sexual Health and Disability Alliance) which campaigns for the sexual rights of people with disabilities.
