Mik Scarlet

Journalist, Broadcaster, EDI consultant and co-CEO of Phab charity.

Mik Scarlet, journalist, broadcaster, EDI consultant and co-CEO of the charity Phab, is proud to be playing a role in Disability Expo 23 at the Excell. Those over 35 might remember Mik as a TV presenter and media personality from his work on shows such as From The Edge and Wham Bam for the BBC and Beat That and Survivors Guide on Channel 4. After taking a break from the media due to ill health in the mid 00s, Mik retrained in inclusive design and practice, and became a leading expert in equality and inclusive design. He also offers equality and inclusive service training and has clients all around the UK and Europe. Recently Mik joined the charity Phab as co-CEO, with the goal of supporting a charity, that supported him when he was a disabled teenager, to embrace the Social Mode of Disability and become a leader in inclusive practice within the charity sector. Still clinging to his punk ethos, Mik lives in Camden, still dyes his hair and is married to Diane.
